I started to look at SSD because my Dell M4300 could benefit of a better disk and live longer (now it is approaching the 2nd year and I have at least another year of Pro Support on site).

Because the CPU is not heavy loaded and I use an Oracle 10G EE , a better disk could make a great difference.

So I would know if you could give some feedback, mainly on database access improvement.

(I am looking at OCZ Vertex)

    Thanks

Yes you should see a big difference for sure in terms of speed since random access times on SSDs are way faster than hard drives. I personally haven't seen any Oracle SSD benchmarks but it's surely to be much superior than the fastest hard drives. Capacity-wise of course you lose a lot vs hard drives.
