Hey guys. I'm a long time customer of OCZ, currently use many of thier products, and thought I'd share this little nugget of gold for those still using the Vertex 1(Indilinx based) drives.
OCZ has announced the possibility of releasing a firmware to update older Vertex 1 models with a firmware that will effectively turn them into Turbo versions. Should be worth quite a bit more bandwidth for those using raid arrays. We need at least 100 requests before Tony at OCZ will release it though, so give your input if you are interested or tell your friends that own em'. The more the merrier as this will surely be an EOL product in the next year. This may be our only chance at improving on these models from here on out, so don't miss it.
Upgrade may not work for all but the thread is here. If it won't, the drive will simply not allow the update.
Go over to the Indilinx forum at OCZ and cast your vote to make it a reality. At the top of the page in the stickies the thread is titled.. "A proposal...making a turbo from a vertex".
