does anyone have experience and recommendations with large 480gb+ 2.5" SSD drives. looking to get 4 of them in a raid-0 configuration. Any information on the best raid controller for this job would be good two.

Currently looking at OCZSSD2-2VTXE480G for the drive.

Wow that would be a screaming setup, though one of those OCZ SSD RAID cards may be best optimized for RAID. Problem with them is that they don't support TRIM since the TRIM command doesn't go through PCIe.

Vaxman - you need to look for drives with SandForce SF2281 chipset. Solidata are releasing the X8 shortly that will even go to 960GB - they support Trim will have Seq R/W of 560/520 MB/s but you will need a disk controller that supports SATA III - this may be better than using RAID.
